Israeli police arrest four in Umm el-Fahm over terror suspicions

Israeli police arrested four residents of the Arab-Israeli city of Umm el-Fahm on suspicion of planning a terror attack, authorities announced. The suspects, all in their 20s, were apprehended following an investigation by the Israel Police's Central District and the Shin Bet security service.

According to a police statement, the individuals were suspected of training with weapons, including airsoft rifles, in preparation for carrying out an attack. During the arrests, police seized several airsoft weapons and other equipment from the suspects' homes.

The investigation indicated the cell had been operating for several months. All four suspects were brought before a court, which extended their remand. The police described the arrests as part of ongoing efforts to thwart terror activities within Israel.
