The French national football team has begun a training camp in Clairefontaine ahead of upcoming friendly matches. The squad convened on Monday, March 23, 2026, for a multi-day preparation period.

Defender William Saliba (Arsenal) and midfielder Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa) were forced to withdraw from the squad after sustaining injuries during their club matches over the weekend. The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed their absences.

Coach Didier Deschamps called up Lens defender Jonathan Clauss and Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana as replacements for the injured players. The team is preparing for friendly matches against Germany on March 26 and Chile on March 29.

This camp serves as a key preparation phase for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Deschamps will use the matches to evaluate his squad options.
