The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the Ghana Police Service have announced a nationwide enforcement exercise targeting the use of outdated dealer number plates and expired documentation. The exercise is set to begin on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

According to a joint statement, the operation will specifically focus on vehicles using the 2025 DV series dealer plates and those with expired DP stickers. The authorities stated that all such plates and stickers are now invalid and their continued use is illegal.

The DVLA has urged all vehicle dealers and users to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and display only valid, up-to-date number plates and stickers. The police have warned that offenders will face the full rigors of the law during the enforcement drive.

This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to streamline vehicle registration, enhance road safety, and curb related fraudulent activities across the country.
