The Association of Diplomatic Spouses (ADS) has donated and installed shade nets valued at N$41,000 for the Special Olympics Namibia centre in Windhoek. The handover ceremony took place recently, with the donation aimed at providing protection from the sun for athletes during training and activities.

National Director of Special Olympics Namibia, Levien Smit, accepted the donation. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of the shade nets for athlete safety and comfort, allowing for extended outdoor training sessions in Namibia's climate.

The ADS, an organization comprising spouses of diplomats accredited to Namibia, undertakes various charitable initiatives. This donation to Special Olympics Namibia supports the organization's mission of providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
