In the Danish general election held on March 24, 2026, the left-wing bloc led by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats has secured the most seats but failed to win an outright majority in the Folketing, the national parliament. With over 99% of votes counted, the bloc is projected to win 90 of the 179 seats, according to preliminary results from the Danish electoral authority.

The result leaves Frederiksen, who called the snap election earlier this month, needing to form a new coalition government. Her previous minority government relied on support from parties across the political spectrum, including the left-wing Red-Green Alliance and the center-right Moderates.

The main opposition right-wing bloc, led by the Liberal Party, is projected to win 89 seats. The final seat distribution and government formation process are expected to take several days as official results are finalized and negotiations begin.
