Crusoe Energy Systems and Redwood Materials have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership to deploy Crusoe's high-density computing infrastructure at Redwood's battery materials campus in McCarran, Nevada. The collaboration, first initiated in 2023, aims to support artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads.
The expanded project will utilize Crusoe's modular data centers, which are powered by otherwise flared or stranded natural gas, to provide computing power for AI model training and inference. This infrastructure is being colocated with Redwood's operations, which recycle lithium-ion batteries and manufacture anode and cathode components.
