Jamila El Alami, the Director of Morocco's National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), has been appointed as the Morocco Country Chair for the Universities & Thought Leadership wing of the G100. The G100 is a global network of women leaders from various sectors dedicated to fostering inclusive economic growth and societal impact.

Her appointment was confirmed by the G100 leadership and announced in early 2026. In this role, El Alami will be responsible for leading initiatives that connect academia, research, and thought leadership within Morocco to the network's global platform, aiming to advance women's leadership in higher education and knowledge creation.

The G100 network, founded by Dr. Harbeen Arora, comprises 100 wings, each focusing on a specific domain such as law, finance, education, and technology. The Universities & Thought Leadership wing specifically works to integrate academic expertise and innovative thinking into policy and societal development frameworks.

El Alami's leadership at the CNRST, a key institution under Morocco's Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, involves overseeing national research strategies and funding. Her new position aligns with ongoing efforts to elevate Morocco's scientific profile and promote gender parity in leadership roles within the science and education sectors.
