The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed that Senegal forfeited the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco. The decision was announced in a statement released on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

The match, which was scheduled to be played in Casablanca, was abandoned after the Senegalese team refused to take the field. The team cited a formal protest over what they deemed biased refereeing appointments and unfair organizational decisions by CAF throughout the tournament.

As a result of the forfeit, Morocco has been awarded the victory and is the official champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. This marks Morocco's third continental title.

The Senegalese Football Federation has released a separate, strongly worded communiqué condemning CAF's governance, accusing it of corruption and a lack of sporting integrity. CAF has stated it will refer the matter to its disciplinary board for further action against the Senegalese federation.
