Belgian-born youth international Rayane Bounida has officially chosen to represent Morocco at the senior international level. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who plays for Anderlecht, had represented Belgium at various youth levels but has now filed a one-time switch with FIFA to play for the Atlas Lions.

Bounida, who holds dual nationality, confirmed his decision in late 2025. He is considered one of the top prospects in Belgian football, having progressed through the prestigious Anderlecht academy. His choice is seen as a significant coup for the Moroccan Football Federation.

The Moroccan national team, which enjoyed a historic run to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals, continues to actively recruit dual-nationality talents to strengthen its squad. Bounida is expected to join the senior setup for future qualifying campaigns.
