Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has recalled the moment the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks began, which coincided with his birthday. In a recent interview, Rampal stated he was at a restaurant in the city on November 26, 2008, when he heard explosions.
"I heard that sound and the whole glass kind of shook and rattled, and we were like, 'What the hell was that?'" Rampal was quoted as saying. He added that initial information suggested a gang war, but the situation's true scale soon became clear.
The coordinated attacks, commonly referred to as 26/11, lasted four days and resulted in the deaths of at least 166 people across multiple locations, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
Rampal connected this personal experience to his 2023 film "Dhurandhar," in which he plays a National Security Guard (NSG) commando. He described the film as his "form of revenge" for the attacks, stating it was his way of contributing to the narrative of national security and resilience.
