Chinese manufacturer Xuji Electric (XJ Electric) has delivered a truck-mounted 66 kV mobile substation to Morocco, intended for a project combining photovoltaic production and electricity storage, the company announced.
The substation is part of a larger initiative to support renewable energy integration in Morocco, which has ambitious targets for solar power. The specific project location and developer were not disclosed in the announcement.
Xuji Electric, a subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China, specializes in power transmission and distribution equipment. The mobile substation is designed for rapid deployment and flexibility, crucial for remote or temporary installations.
Morocco aims to generate 52% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with solar playing a key role. The Noor Ouarzazate complex is one of the world's largest concentrated solar power plants.
