Winnipeg firefighters responded to seven fires in just over 24 hours between Friday evening and Saturday evening, according to the city. The incidents included a grass fire in the south end that covered approximately 1,000 square metres.
The first fire was reported around 5 p.m. on Friday. Crews worked to contain the blazes across the city, with no immediate reports of injuries. The cause of the fires is under investigation.
Fire officials reminded residents to exercise caution with outdoor activities, especially during dry conditions that can increase fire risk.
