Cardiff Airport has announced a partnership with the University of South Wales to offer a degree program aimed at training students for careers in the aviation industry. The collaboration, confirmed in early 2026, will provide students with practical experience at the airport alongside academic coursework.
The program, a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management, is designed to address skills shortages in the sector. Students will have access to airport facilities and mentorship from industry professionals. The first cohort is expected to begin studies in September 2026.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to boost the regional economy and support the aviation sector in Wales. Cardiff Airport, owned by the Welsh Government, has seen increased passenger numbers in recent years, with over 1.5 million travelers in 2025.
