SINGAPORE – Frail or socially isolated seniors in Toa Payoh will receive weekly visits from volunteers under a new initiative called Project Silver Circle, launched on May 9, 2026. The program, organized by the Toa Payoh Community Club and supported by the Agency for Integrated Care, aims to reduce loneliness and provide practical support.
Volunteers, ranging from students to retirees, will visit seniors at home, chat with them, help with errands like grocery shopping, or accompany them on outings. The initiative targets seniors who are frail, live alone, or have limited social contact, with an initial focus on 50 residents in the Toa Payoh Central area.
“We want to ensure no senior feels forgotten,” said Ms. Tan Li Ling, chairperson of the Toa Payoh Community Club’s senior activities committee. “The weekly visits are a simple but meaningful way to check on their well-being and offer companionship.”
The project plans to expand to other parts of Toa Payoh by the end of 2026, depending on volunteer availability and community response. Interested volunteers can sign up through the Toa Payoh Community Club website or at its office.
