German rail group Vossloh has announced the formation of a joint venture with Portuguese company Futrifer, named Vossloh Futrifer Services Maroc, based in Casablanca. The new entity will focus on maintenance services for Morocco's railway networks, according to a Vossloh statement.
The joint venture combines Vossloh's expertise in rail infrastructure with Futrifer's experience in track maintenance. It aims to support the expansion and modernization of Morocco's rail system, which is a key part of the country's transport strategy.
Vossloh Futrifer Services Maroc will operate from Casablanca, serving clients including the national railway office ONCF. The partnership is expected to create local jobs and transfer technical skills to Moroccan workers.
