Volkswagen Group Canada is recalling 8,260 vehicles in Canada due to a software issue that poses a potential safety risk. The recall, issued by Transport Canada, affects certain 2024 model year Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles.

According to the federal agency's recall notice, a software problem could cause the instrument cluster not to display any information when the vehicle is started. This cluster includes critical safety information such as the speedometer, warning lights, and fuel gauge.

Transport Canada states that driving without this information could increase the risk of a crash. The recall notice was posted on the agency's website and is dated March 28, 2026.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealership. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software free of charge to resolve the issue.
