Vietnam's under-17 football team has been drawn into Group G for the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 3 to 27, 2025. The draw, conducted on April 15, 2025, placed Vietnam alongside Spain, Uzbekistan, and the United States.
Spain, a two-time U17 World Cup champion (1997, 2007), is considered the group favorite. The United States, runners-up in 1999, and Uzbekistan, a rising force in Asian youth football, complete the group. Vietnam qualified for the tournament by reaching the semifinals of the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup.
Vietnam's opening match is against Spain on November 3, followed by Uzbekistan on November 6, and the United States on November 9. All group matches will be held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
This marks Vietnam's second appearance at the U17 World Cup, having previously participated in 2000. The team is coached by Cristiano Roland, who has emphasized the importance of tactical discipline against stronger opponents.
