The Vancouver Canucks have relieved general manager Patrik Allvin of his duties, the team announced on April 18, 2026. The decision follows the conclusion of the 2025-26 NHL regular season, where the Canucks finished with the league's worst record.
Under Allvin's leadership, the Canucks compiled a record of 22-48-12, finishing with 56 points. This placed them 32nd and last in the overall NHL standings, 14 points behind the 31st-place Chicago Blackhawks. The team struggled significantly on both offense and defense throughout the campaign.
The search for a new general manager will begin immediately, according to team president Jim Rutherford. "We thank Patrik for his dedication and service," Rutherford stated in the official release. "However, the results this season were unacceptable, and a change in leadership is necessary to move the franchise forward."
Allvin had been the Canucks' general manager since January 2022. His dismissal marks the first major organizational change following one of the most disappointing seasons in recent franchise history.
