The United States and Morocco have signed a new 10-year defense cooperation roadmap, formalizing their strategic partnership. The agreement was signed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, April 15, 2026.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Moroccan Minister Delegate in Charge of National Defense Abdellatif Loudiyi presided over the signing ceremony. The roadmap is designed to enhance bilateral military collaboration and interoperability over the next decade.
The framework builds upon the longstanding defense relationship between the two nations, which includes Morocco's status as a Major Non-NATO Ally. It aims to strengthen cooperation in areas such as joint exercises, training, and defense modernization.
This agreement underscores the strategic importance of the U.S.-Morocco alliance in promoting regional security and stability in North Africa.
