The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for grant support to strengthen healthcare systems and civilian protection in the Kharkiv oblast of Ukraine. The initiative, announced in March 2026, is part of ongoing international efforts to address the humanitarian impact of the conflict.

According to the official procurement notice, the program aims to fund key interventions, including the repair of hospital basements to serve as safer spaces, the delivery of critical medical equipment, and face-to-face explosive ordance risk education for communities. These activities are designed to bolster local resilience and provide immediate support to vulnerable populations.

The deadline for submitting proposals is May 5, 2026. UNOPS, which operates under a mandate from the UN General Assembly, is managing the grant process to ensure transparent and effective allocation of funds for the specified humanitarian objectives in eastern Ukraine.
