Uganda's government has suspended all school trips following a bus crash on Thursday evening that killed at least 20 pupils and one adult. The victims were part of an educational tour, according to official statements.
The accident occurred in the central region of Uganda, near the town of Kayunga. Dozens of others, including staff members, were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. The cause of the crash is under investigation, with preliminary reports suggesting brake failure.
President Yoweri Museveni expressed condolences on social media, calling the incident a tragedy. The Ministry of Education announced the suspension of all school trips pending a safety review.
