Three more schoolchildren have died from injuries sustained during a fatal bus crash in eastern Uganda, raising the death toll to 23 children and one adult, police said on Monday.

The bus, carrying dozens of pupils and their teachers from the King David Junior School in Kampala, was traveling to a school event when it crashed on July 12, 2026, in the Busia district near the Kenyan border. The vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned, killing 20 people at the scene.
