Two men have been sentenced to prison for arson attacks on a car and two properties linked to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in May 2025. The attacks occurred over three nights and were carried out on the orders of a Russian-speaking figure known as 'El...' according to court documents.
The defendants, whose names have not been fully released, were convicted of arson with intent to endanger life. The properties targeted included Starmer's constituency office and a private residence associated with him.
Prosecutors said the men acted under instructions from an individual using the alias 'El...' who communicated with them via encrypted messaging apps. The motive remains under investigation, but authorities have not linked the attacks to any known terrorist group.
Sentencing was handed down at the Old Bailey on June 18, 2026. The judge described the crimes as 'a serious attack on democratic values' and imposed prison terms of 12 and 15 years respectively.
