Two drivers have died following a collision on the M90 near Kinross after a car was seen travelling on the wrong side of the motorway. Police Scotland confirmed the incident occurred on the southbound carriageway near Junction 6 for Kinross on Friday, 18 April 2026.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10:30 pm. A grey Ford Kuga was reported to have been travelling northbound in the southbound lanes prior to the collision.
Police stated that both drivers, the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed, though formal identification is still to take place.
The southbound carriageway was closed for several hours to allow for a full investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses and any relevant dashcam footage to assist with their inquiries into the circumstances of the crash.
