Two people are dead after a vehicle crashed into the Moose River in Lewis County on June 19, 2026, according to the New York State Police.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Route 28 in the town of Webb. The vehicle, a 2018 Ford Explorer, left the roadway and entered the river for reasons still under investigation.
First responders recovered the bodies of the two occupants from the vehicle. Their identities have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the New York State Police in Lewis County.
