Two people have been charged in connection with a bleach attack in Liverpool city centre that left a man hospitalised. Merseyside Police confirmed that officers were called to the junction of Bold Street and Newington at approximately 1:55 PM on Wednesday, April 29.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment after being sprayed with a corrosive substance. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.
Two suspects, a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, have been charged with assault and possession of a corrosive substance in a public place. They are due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 1.
Detectives have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
