A mob in Bangladesh's Manikganj district killed two brothers on suspicion of their involvement in the death of a child, according to police reports. The incident occurred in the Harirampur upazila on April 16, 2026.
Authorities stated that a five-year-old boy, who had been missing since April 15, was found dead in a pond. Following the discovery, local residents, suspecting the involvement of the two brothers, attacked and killed them. The victims were identified as brothers from the local community.
Police have arrested 15 individuals in connection with the mob killing. The district's police superintendent confirmed the arrests and stated that a case has been filed. The bodies of the deceased brothers were sent for autopsy, and an investigation into the child's death is ongoing.
