Trade between Tunisia and Turkey has seen a notable increase, with Turkish exports to Tunisia surpassing $720 million. The textile sector remains the primary driver, reflecting strong demand for Turkish fabrics and garments in the Tunisian market.
According to the latest figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), exports to Tunisia grew by 12% compared to the previous year, reaching $720.5 million in the first seven months of 2026. Textiles and raw materials accounted for nearly 40% of these exports, followed by machinery and electrical equipment.
Economic analysts note that the bilateral trade volume is expected to reach $2 billion by the end of the year, driven by the existing free trade agreement and increasing industrial cooperation. However, trade balance remains in Turkey's favor, as Tunisian exports to Turkey are significantly lower.
The Tunisian government has expressed interest in rebalancing trade by boosting exports of agricultural products and textiles to Turkey, while also attracting more Turkish investment in the country's manufacturing sector.
