Data from Morocco's Ministry of Health and Social Protection indicates that 53% of the tuberculosis cases registered in the country in 2025 were of the extra-pulmonary type. This form of the disease affects organs other than the lungs, such as the lymph nodes, bones, or kidneys, and is often more challenging to diagnose than pulmonary tuberculosis.

The ministry's figures, reported by national media, show a total of 29,000 new cases of tuberculosis were recorded in Morocco in 2025. The high proportion of extra-pulmonary cases highlights a significant diagnostic hurdle in the national fight against the disease.

Health authorities continue to emphasize the importance of early detection and treatment to combat tuberculosis, which remains a public health priority in Morocco. The national tuberculosis control program works to provide free diagnosis and treatment across the country.
