A new collective bargaining agreement has been finalized for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers, securing pay increases and other benefits. The agreement, ratified by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) in late 2025, covers approximately 60,000 employees and includes provisions for higher starting salaries and shift differentials.

Despite the pay resolution, the TSA continues to face significant staffing shortages and high attrition rates, which have been persistent challenges since the pandemic. These ongoing workforce issues are expected to contribute to potential passenger processing delays at airports, especially during peak travel periods.

Separately, the status of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents remains a point of political contention. Recent legislative proposals have focused on border security funding and enforcement priorities, but no major policy changes leading to a large-scale reduction or reassignment of ICE personnel have been enacted as of March 2026.
