The first edition of the Tour du Cayor cycling race concluded in Tivaouane, Senegal, on May 10, 2026. The event featured participants from several African and European countries, including Senegal, France, and Belgium.
Organized by the Tivaouane Cycling Committee, the race covered approximately 150 kilometers through the Cayor region. The winner was Senegalese rider Moussa Diallo, who completed the course in 3 hours and 45 minutes.
European participants included French cyclist Pierre Lefevre and Belgian rider Jan Van der Berg, who finished in second and third place respectively. The event aimed to promote cycling in Senegal and foster international sports exchange.
Local authorities praised the race for its organization and positive impact on tourism in the Tivaouane area. Plans for a second edition in 2027 are already underway.
