Tim Smith has been named the new head coach of the Columbia Bible College (CBC) Bearcats men's basketball team in Abbotsford, British Columbia, as confirmed by the college's athletic department on May 20, 2026.
Smith brings extensive coaching experience to the program, having previously served as an assistant coach with the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades and as head coach of the Yale Secondary School basketball team in Abbotsford. He holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of British Columbia.
“I am honored to join the Bearcats family and build on the strong tradition of CBC basketball,” Smith said in a statement. “I look forward to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.”
The Bearcats compete in the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Smith replaces former head coach Nathan Martindale, who stepped down after five seasons to pursue other opportunities.
