The 19th edition of the International Comics Forum (FIBaD) opened in Tetouan, Morocco, on May 14, 2026, under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. The event, which runs until May 17, brings together artists, publishers, and fans from around the world to celebrate the ninth art.
This year's theme focuses on creativity, youth, and intercultural dialogue. The forum features exhibitions, workshops, and conferences, with a special emphasis on emerging talents from Africa and the Arab world. Organizers confirmed that over 50 artists from 20 countries are participating.
Key highlights include a retrospective of Moroccan comics pioneer Abdelaziz Mouride and a masterclass by French graphic novelist Catherine Meurisse. The event also hosts a competition for young comic creators, with prizes awarded on the final day.
The FIBaD is organized by the Association of Friends of Comics in Tetouan, with support from the Ministry of Culture. Admission is free for students and children under 12.
