Reality television personality Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen, were engaged in a custody dispute months before issues related to their conflict led to a temporary production halt on the show "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," according to a report from TMZ.
Legal documents obtained by the outlet show that Paul filed for primary physical custody of their daughter in Utah's 3rd District Court in late 2025. Mortensen subsequently filed a counter-petition seeking joint legal and physical custody.
The custody proceedings reportedly created scheduling and logistical challenges for the production of the reality series, which follows the lives of several women. This contributed to the decision by producers to temporarily pause filming in early 2026.
Representatives for the show or the network have not publicly commented on the specific reasons for the production pause. Paul and Mortensen's relationship and its aftermath have been a focal point of the series since its inception.
