Taghazout Bay, the seaside resort north of Agadir, Morocco, is accelerating its development for the summer 2026 season. The destination is simultaneously expanding its accommodation offerings and entertainment schedule to solidify its position as a leading tourist hub.
According to the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the resort has added new hotel capacity, including the opening of several international-brand hotels. The total number of beds in the area has increased to over 5,000, up from 3,500 in 2024, as part of a broader strategy to attract more visitors.
The summer 2026 calendar features a series of events, including the Taghazout Surf Festival (scheduled for July 20-25), live music concerts, and cultural workshops. The ONMT reports that advance bookings for July and August are up 30% compared to the same period in 2025, driven by improved air connectivity and promotional campaigns.
Local authorities have also invested in infrastructure upgrades, such as new beach facilities and improved road access, to enhance the visitor experience. The resort aims to welcome over 200,000 tourists during the summer season, according to the regional tourism council.
