Cédric Prizzon, a 42-year-old Frenchman, has confessed to the murders of his partner, 41-year-old Amandine Priez, and his ex-partner, 39-year-old Céline Vasselin. The two women disappeared in the Aveyron department in late February 2026. Prizzon was arrested in Portugal on March 24, 2026, following a European arrest warrant.

Portuguese judicial police confirmed his arrest and subsequent detention. During his custody, Prizzon admitted to the killings but denied any premeditation, claiming the acts occurred during arguments. The investigation, led by French authorities from the Rodez prosecutor's office with support from Portugal, is ongoing to establish the precise circumstances.

The suspect was transferred from police custody to preventive detention in Portugal on March 27, 2026, pending a formal extradition process to France. Investigators are examining phone records and the suspect's movements between France, Spain, and Portugal following the women's disappearances.
