Super Typhoon Bavi is approaching China's east coast, with authorities issuing warnings and evacuating residents in vulnerable areas. The storm, which intensified rapidly over the Pacific, is expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and storm surges to coastal provinces.
According to the China Meteorological Administration, Bavi is forecast to make landfall in Zhejiang or Fujian provinces within the next 24 hours. Thousands of fishing boats have been called back to port, and flights and train services have been suspended in some regions.
Local governments have opened emergency shelters and urged residents to stay indoors. The storm is one of the strongest to threaten the region this year, with sustained winds exceeding 150 km/h.
