Steve Clarke has signed a new contract to remain as Scotland head coach until the 2030 World Cup, the Scottish Football Association (SFA) confirmed on 28 May 2026. The 62-year-old, who was out of contract after this summer's World Cup, is the only manager to lead Scotland to three major tournaments.
Clarke, who took charge in 2019, guided Scotland to Euro 2020, Euro 2024, and the 2026 World Cup. His new deal extends his tenure through the 2030 World Cup, which will be hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.
The SFA praised Clarke's leadership and stability, noting his role in ending Scotland's long absence from major tournaments. The team qualified for Euro 2020 after a 23-year wait, then reached Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.
Clarke's contract extension ensures continuity as Scotland prepares for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The SFA has not disclosed financial terms of the deal.
