Stankoven, who has six goals in the playoffs, has scored in each of Carolina's first five postseason games.
βI think it just goes back to how many chances Iβve had throughout the season to score,β Stankoven said after the game. β(My linemates) have been finding me in good spots, and Iβve been able to put them in.β
Goaltender Frederik Andersen made 28 saves for the shutout. Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis also scored for the Hurricanes. The Flyers' goaltender, Samuel Ersson, stopped 31 of 35 shots. Game 2 is scheduled for May 4 in Raleigh.
