Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Abhishek Sharma has been sanctioned for a breach of the IPL Code of Conduct. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Sharma was fined 25 percent of his match fee and handed one demerit point for a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the code.

The incident occurred during SRH's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The specific nature of the breach was not detailed in the official release from the IPL.

Sharma admitted to the offence and accepted the match referee's sanction. As per IPL rules, the accumulation of four or more demerit points within a 24-month period can lead to a player's suspension for one or more matches.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the match to KKR by a significant margin. This disciplinary action marks the first code of conduct breach for Sharma in the ongoing IPL season.
