Toys for Bob has officially announced a new original Spyro game, titled Spyro: A Realm Beyond, for the PlayStation 5. The game is scheduled for release in spring 2027.
This marks the first original Spyro title in nearly 20 years, following the 2018 Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which was a remaster of the original three games. The announcement was made via a trailer on June 8, 2026.
Details about the gameplay and story are limited, but the trailer suggests a new adventure for the beloved purple dragon. Toys for Bob, known for the Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, is developing the title.
