Spanish police have uncovered a sophisticated 200-meter (656-foot) tunnel used to smuggle hashish from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The discovery was announced by Spain's Interior Ministry on March 31, 2026.

The tunnel, which began in a Moroccan house and ended in a warehouse in Ceuta, was equipped with lighting, ventilation, and a rail system to transport drugs. Authorities seized approximately 1,200 kilograms of hashish during the operation.

Police arrested four individuals in connection with the tunnel, which is believed to have been operational for several months. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to dismantle the criminal network responsible for its construction.
