Spanish chemical solutions manufacturer BEHQ has expanded its presence in Morocco following the acquisition of its exclusive Italian distributor, Chemartis, a specialist in water treatment. The transaction was carried out through its parent company, Bonet Especial.
The acquisition, announced in early 2026, aims to strengthen BEHQ's position in the Mediterranean region, particularly in North Africa. Chemartis had been BEHQ's exclusive distributor in Italy for several years, handling the sale of water treatment chemicals.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. BEHQ, based in Barcelona, produces a range of chemical solutions for industrial and municipal water treatment. The company has been active in Morocco since 2019, supplying products to local water treatment plants.
The move is part of a broader strategy by BEHQ to increase its market share in the Maghreb region, where demand for water treatment solutions is growing due to water scarcity and industrial expansion.
