South Korea's National Assembly passed a supplementary budget bill worth 25 trillion won (approximately $18.3 billion) on April 10, 2026. The budget was approved by the plenary session after negotiations between the ruling Democratic Party of Korea and opposition parties.

The government stated the funds are primarily allocated for economic relief measures to support vulnerable populations facing high inflation and living costs. A significant portion is also designated to strengthen supply chain resilience and energy security, citing ongoing global instability.

President Yoon Suk Yeol's office had previously called for the budget's swift passage to address economic headwinds. The final bill reflects a compromise, with some opposition demands for increased public livelihood support incorporated into the final version.
