MADINAH: The Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mukhtar Robow Ali, has inspected several hotels housing Somali pilgrims in Madinah to assess the quality of services provided to worshippers undertaking the Umrah pilgrimage, according to a statement from the Somali Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs on May 17, 2026.
The inspection focused on accommodation standards, food quality, and transportation arrangements for Somali pilgrims. Robow Ali emphasized the importance of ensuring that pilgrims receive adequate care and comfort during their stay in the holy city.
The minister was accompanied by officials from the Somali Hajj and Umrah delegation. The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Somali government to improve services for its citizens performing religious rites in Saudi Arabia.
