Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon title on Sunday, defeating Alexander Zverev in the men's singles final at the All England Club. The match, held on Centre Court, saw Sinner win in four sets, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, according to official tournament reports.
Sinner, the top seed from Italy, becomes the first player since Novak Djokovic in 2018-2019 to win back-to-back Wimbledon titles. The 24-year-old's victory was built on a powerful serve and aggressive baseline play, which troubled Zverev throughout the match.
Zverev, the German fourth seed, fought back after losing the first set, taking the second set with a single break of serve. However, Sinner regained control in the third-set tiebreak and sealed the win with a decisive break in the fourth set.
The win adds to Sinner's growing Grand Slam collection, which now includes three major titles. He previously won the Australian Open in 2025 and his first Wimbledon in 2025. Zverev, still seeking his first Grand Slam title, has now lost two major finals, including the 2020 US Open final.
In the women's doubles final earlier on Sunday, the pair of Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková won their third Wimbledon title together, defeating the American duo of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in straight sets.
