Singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been charged with murder in the death of a missing 14-year-old girl, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced. The charges were filed on Monday, April 18, 2026.
The victim, identified as Ava Chen, was reported missing in October 2025. Her decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla in a Los Angeles parking garage in November 2025. Law enforcement confirmed the vehicle was registered to the singer.
Prosecutors allege Burke killed the teenager, though a specific motive has not been publicly disclosed. He was arrested without incident at his residence. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Burke, known for his viral hits on social media platforms, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Tuesday. His attorney stated they intend to vigorously contest the charges. He remains in custody on no bail.
