The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in Morocco has issued a weather alert for Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The forecast warns of unstable weather conditions affecting several regions of the country.
According to the official bulletin, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain are expected over the provinces of the Oriental region, the Rif, the Loukkos, the Saiss, the Middle Atlas, and the phosphate plateaus. Localized heavy downpours are possible in these areas.
The DGM also forecasts strong gusts of wind, with speeds reaching between 70 and 90 km/h, in the southern provinces and the regions of Souss and the east. These conditions may reduce visibility and create difficult travel conditions.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to exercise caution, avoid non-essential travel during periods of intense weather, and stay updated with the latest official forecasts from the DGM.
