The Africa Cup of Nations trophy won by Senegal in 2021 has been moved from the national football federation's headquarters to a military base in Dakar. The decision, confirmed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), was made to ensure the trophy's maximum security following its national tour.

The trophy had been on display at the FSF's offices in the Sicap Liberté 2 neighborhood. According to federation officials, the relocation to the military facility is a standard precautionary measure to safeguard the prestigious award, which holds significant national value.

This move comes after the trophy completed a tour across Senegal's regions, allowing fans to celebrate the historic victory. The FSF has stated the trophy will remain under military guard until a permanent, secure display location is finalized.

Senegal secured its first-ever AFCON title by defeating Egypt in the final in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on February 6, 2022. The trophy's security has been a priority since its return to the country.
