Senegalese actresses Mame Dior and Déguène Ndiaye have been formally charged with theft and defamation. The two women were arrested and presented before the public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court in the Dakar region.
The case stems from an incident during a stay at a hotel in the Mermoz area of Dakar. The complainant, a woman, accused the actresses of stealing a significant sum of money and personal items, including jewelry, from her hotel room.
Following their arrest, the actresses were held in custody before being brought before the prosecutor. The judicial investigation into the allegations of theft and defamation is ongoing.
